I've installed xll, and packages for the gimp and 'gtk' from opendarwin.org. I've then tried to launch the gimp from xterm using their note: type '/usr/local/bin/gimp-1.2 --no-shm --no-xshm '

However, instead of Gimp launching I get this error:

dyld: /usr/local/bin/gimp-1.2 can't open library: /usr/local/lib/libgtk-1.2.0.dylib (No such file or directory, errno = 2)

What does this mean? (And please don't just suggest that I use Fink )

Just download and install the GTK package they have on the site. Gimp should launch just fine after that.

Ok, it appears that I downloaded 'gtk2' instead of gtk and wasted an hour waiting for it to download on my modem.

Oh well, at least it should work now
