Situation: Entourage X lists an old web proxy that I no longer use in its mail/news preferences box. I CANNOT delete or change this; it's greyed out. Any idea how it got there in the first place? It must have imported it somehow because I stopped using the proxy before I got Entourage. Any idea how to get rid of it?

That's what I found in Entourage help:
Tip To specify settings for Web proxy servers, open the Network pane in System Preferences (Apple menu), and then click the Proxies tab.
.

Seems like Entourage forgets to look up the Network Pref Settings after having put a Proxy in once. But then it probably does no harm there... unless maybe if you really want it to "render complex html" and "allow network access"?
