I am now using OS X exclusively but I can no longer use my Canon N1220U scanner. I searched the canon web site and there are NO OS X drivers for this scanner.

Does this mean that I need to buy a new scanner?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, but those drivers are for Macintosh Classic Mode Only NOT OS X.

The OS X native drivers are the very first item under Mac drivers.

The drivers linked to above are native, but not really what I would like to see. Like the classic drivers, these are actually plugins for Photoshop, and can only be used if you have purchased Photoshop or PhotoElements. They do not work with Image Capture.

Vuescan, which someone else linked to, is a great solution if you don't have Photoshop or PE. It works with the N1220U flawless, and provides a dizzying array of controls over scans.

I read on one of the Apple discussion boards that they will work with any application that uses Adobe-type plugins. GraphicConverter was mentioned.

Another good option.

I think it's possible to use ScanGear from within CanoScan Toolbox if you can't use PhotoShop plugins. Worked OK for me before.
