Hello,

I am trying to get sendmail to work on Mac OS X Server 10.1, so that php scripts can send mail from my website. This box is used only for web site servering, since there is another Mac OS X Server used just for mail/

Anyways. I turned on the mail server on the web server box, and added localhost for the hosts, and then allowed out going mai/

I then tried sending e-mail through a form on my site and nothing.

I need to get this working ASAP. My site depends on it.

Thanks.

This is usually a permissioning problem. Search on VersionTracker for "KeepSendmailHappy"- it resets the permissions on the appropriate directories when you start up.

I thought that was for Client only. So it does affect server then too?

Also, does the PHP that ships with OS X server have sendmail enabled?

Are you sure you configured the hostname properly? An external mail gateway will most likely require a hostname other than 'localhost' to accept mail you've sent.

Have you tried sending mail from the command line? Have you tried receiving mail?

This is a web server only box, there is another e-mail only box. I only need sendmail for outgoing e-mail from phpscripts.

I have got snedmail working on client for outgoing without needing a host name etc.

I need to send out a mailing list, and e-mails from vbulletin board.
