Problems with Mail and MSN

I got my MSN internet working with OS X (thanks from the help provided in this forum), but now I cannot get Mail to work. I have the right stuff typed in for the settings, but because i have to put "msn/" before my username to get online, Mail is telling me that the username was not found. Is there a way to get around this too.
