Anyone else having this problem? It just never starts the download. It's happened now for the Safari update, G4 firmware update, IE 5.2.2.

I didn't use SU to download Safari but in the Safari thread someone else had a similar problem. Have you ever had the problem other than with Safari just now? Do you have any inactive updates you could install to see if they work?

Nope. Works like a charm. Does it work when you choose to download the update to desktop in SW Update?

It's only some updates. My friend got a new dual 1.2 G4 last week with 10.2.1 installed. There were about 9 updates (ical, imovie, firmware, itunes, 10.2.3 combined, IE 5.2.2, etc). Half of them downloaded and installed, the others never even started the download.

Then I tried to download Safari on my computer this morning and it wouldn't download either. Maybe there is something funny happening with the campus network. Things have always worked for me previously and it seems to work at home.
