Hi

Sitting in the NY Public library and noticed that I get quite a few airport computer to computer connections in my airport menu. Part of the library has ethernet ports, while the other doesn't so obviously somebody is connected and is transmitting their connection wirelessly. If I turn on my 'create network' setting in the network panel, will my computer act as a transmitter of the other guy's signal?

Just trying to figure out how this all works...this is cool!

Thanks!

Pete

computer-to-computer networks do not provide 'net access unless one computer has wired 'net access AND is configured to share it over airport.

There is a free wireless network available in Bryant park just on the other side of the library, so I'm guessing there's also one inside the library or that the range extends inside as well...

Was just going to say the same thing about the Bryant Park airport access. And this time of year you are better off staying in the library ... lots warmer!

Now can we have same for Union Square and Washington Square and Central Park and...
