OK, just when I think I have seen it ALL in OS X, something new and unusual pops up. In the past couple of days, about 30% of the time, when I restart, the machine boots back into 9.2.2 even though I have checked 10.1.5 in the system prefs dialogue box.

Also, while in the system prefs/startup disk dialogue, I check the lock to prevent changes. But after quitting sysprefs and then immediately reopening sysprefs, the lock is unlocked. Hmmmm.

Any clues as to how I can really REALLY lock the startup disk in 10.1.5? Does this kind of crapola go away in Jaguar?
