crash running update_prebinding

I get a crash in Terminal running the command " sudo update_prebinding -force -verbose -root". The terminal tells me:
2003-02-13 23:20:06.654 update_prebinding[467] Start of update_prebinding
2003-02-13 23:20:06.657 update_prebinding[467] *** Uncaught exception: <NSInvalidArgumentException> [NSPlaceholderString initWithUTF8String:]: NULL cStringTrace/BPT trap
and rights a crash report to the crashlog. Anyone out there point me in the right direction with what this means?
