Enough with the 'snappy' and 'debug code' posts...

Greetings...
I understood the initial, satirical postings about every new release being 'more snappy' and the never ending, sarcastic comments about the debug code being the culprit for the sluggishness of OSX but enough already...I'm so sick of seeing the same stupid, allegedly funny posts every time anything is updated...
This old, old joke reminds me of SNL skits that should have been retired after a few runs...it was funny for the first couple of times but the humor is long, long gone...let's put an end to them now that we've all seen the joke ample times...

I'm tired of seeing threads that talk about how annoying threads about "snappiness" and "debug code inclusions" are.

The next thread on this topic will be snappier when the admins remove the debug code from MySQL.

I agree, but I'm afraid you're only egging on them with this post.

The three typical threads are:
1. Meaningless none contribuding comments about issues most of us don't really find intresting.
2. Trolling threads.
3. None relevant threads that belongs in other forums.
But than again these are things that are part of the nature of forums on the www.

The threads about debug code will persist as long as there is debug code in the operating system because people are concerned about snappiness.

Is snappy debug code an oxymoron?
This is something we should think about.

No, the guy is right - all this snappy crap is just not fun anymore. The first time? OK. The second time? Well... But after 4 quadrillion times it's just a ucking nuisance. Honestly. This board is floating belly-over with database erros, overworked admins and crap like that. We don't need to post additional baloney - the el cheapo servers are at the limit anyhow. Threads that contain the words snappy or debug code as well as OS X should be deleted immediately and the guy who wrote it should get his Mac taken away from him and be given a C64.

Hey, you mis-quoted them in this thread's title!
It should read:

So, does this mean that they finally DID remove the debugging code? Is that why it's not funny anymore? Did they take it out with the release of 10.2, or with one of the updates? It certainly doesn't feel snappier to me, dude.

But they don't tell whether it's snappier due to the removal of some debug code or for other reasons.
The discussion will continue.

Pfff.. At least you don't have to endure a beowulf cluster of petrified Natalie Portmans pouring hot grits down your pants, which is being maintained by OOG the caveman, who in turn is a subordinate of the ******-guy living in SOVIET RUSSIA where all base are belong to them.
Really... and you complain about "snappy" and "debug code"

Lighten up dude. Every site has some kind of joke, which has gotten really old over the past years.
I think Slashdot has the most, ranging from the petrified Natalie Portman over to the beowulf cluster right to OOG the caveman. SomethingAwful has Admiral Akhbar's "It's a trap!" and Fark is probably still struggling with Domo-kun and SOVIET RUSSIA! And don't get me started about all the variations of "fp" and "frist p0st".
MacNN has "Is it snappy?" and "Did they remove the debug code?". Relax, these will *never* go away and you can't do a thing about it.

Ecxellent job, macmike42! Actual documented proof of improved snappiness?. You'd better believe I'll be posting that at some other forums. Now to look for documentation on the debugging code.....

Ah shut up. I'm not gonna let some forum newbie with a post count of 11 lecture me on the jokes of this board. I've been here since you've started learning the german genitive, so you are way out of line here buddy.
Fact is, there are not just some jokes here that never go away, but also - and let me repeat - many infantile idiots here too.

It's not senseless, Simon, nor infantile (if you're going to be a stickler). I'll give you adolescent, though. I'd agree, on some days, that it would be nice to have a wank-free board, but, then, if no jokes were allowed under your regime, and only tightly-controlled troubleshooting questions under the regime of the "no-whining-or-Apple-bashing" crowd, it would be a bloodless commissariat of a website.
Anyway, I think you're knowingly complicit. Not one damn person here is going to stop joking about "snappy" or "debug code" because you complain about it. You know this of course -- you must. It'll only egg on the Snappietiers, encourage them in their code debuggery.

Ah and now even a lawyer lectures me. You are just about the last guy I'd take advice from.
Fact is, except for about a dozen jerk kids nobody needs to post the snappy crap here, do they? The rest of the hundreds of members of this board can stay reasonable - even if they're not older than 14. Now guess who I can do without?

Ah, ad hominem shots. Most refreshing and mature, unlike those bitter and self-important "snappy" comments. I'm a convert now, I'll tell ya that, just from your example... good show of "staying reasonable." I won't quibble with you over your factual statements, since you seem to be in an empirical profession, and thus I doubt you'd overreach there.

Well, now look here!
At least that was much better entertainment than "hey, 10.2.4 is more snappy because of the missing debug code ROTFLMAO, yadda, yadda..."
Thanks.

I normally don't post snappy code jokes, but it's just so tempting to do it just to watch Simon fume.
Must... resist... snappy... jokes... agh!
