Ok, as the info provided by Apple is not to explicit I have been investigating a bit and will continue to do but would like to share the first part of info with you.

Here is a list of Apps included with the update. Marked with an x are new ones.

Address Book.app
Calculator.app
Mail.app
Sherlock.app
Apple System Profiler.app
Audio MIDI Setup.app
Bluetooth File Exchange.app
x Bluetooth Serial Utility.app
x Bluetooth Setup Assistant.app
Print Center.app
TCIMTool.app
TCIMUIServer.app
AppleFileServer.app
x BluetoothUIServer.app
Classic Startup.app
Finder.app
OBEXAgent.app
System Events.app
SystemUIServer.app
SpeechRecognitionServer.app
Minstaller.app
MultiCDInstaller.app
(x*) MiniTerm.app

* This application did exist in 10.1.x but not in 10.2.x as far as I could find.

Any clues about what the new ones could do. I am going to have a look.

If you know later about the changes in the most important apps (like Mail), I would be very grateful... The same for the "new" application.

Thanks!

Not sure, but it seems that font smoothing has changed (particularly in menus). The text looks less blurry and more thick on my iBook.

Edit: I compared 10.2.4 with an old screenshot and the font smoothing is actually identical.

Have you actually read Apple's detailed changelist?

Apple's change list is not exhaustive. 10.2.4 also fixed the bug where duplex settings were not remembered by printer presets. I consider this a pretty major bug, and was surprised it wasn't in the note.

Be aware that the 10.2.4 also changes (read: reverts) some of the files on your hard-drive to factory settings. I had enabled the monitor-spanning hack on my 700MHz iBook, and had modified the configuration.plist file to enable QE at 8MB VRAM rather than 16MB, the default. Upgrading to 10.2.4 wiped out that change, and I had to re-enable it by hand.

Just so you know...

Yes, but it is not complete as someone else said.

Where do they say anything about Bluetooth? Or the change of the "http.conf" file?

Fair enough. They will probably also release a developer change list with the list of radars of changes that were included. They're normally pretty comprehensive.

I have found 10.2.4 has cleaned out a lot of my true type fonts - I have managed to locate a backup of them but I am annoyed that the update went off and deleted them. Has anyone else found this?

MiniTerm is part of the PPP package so I guess it's for those dialup ISPs that require a terminal script to log in with

yes, I updated only the other day and found it had deleted a large number of my fonts.

Question is - are there any incompatibility problems between the old and new fonts?
