Hi,

I have a QS 2002 DP1000 with a 3-port USB card installed.

10.2.4 seems to see the extra ports but does not detect anything attached to them. If I unplug my MS Intellimouse Explorer from the QS's USB port and plug it into a port on the USB card, the led does not light up. Same for my keyspan serial to USB adapter.

I tried moving the USB card to another slot but the problem remains.

I have 10.2.3 on another drive. When I boot that all devices are detected and work fine.

Anyone else have similar problems?

The USB card in my G3 continues working fine. Is your card still shown in the Apple System Profiler? Maybe that'll give you some hints.

All usb items in System Profiler are lumped under 'USB Info'. Although the card itself is not listed, the ports do appear.

Several reboots and a reset of PRAM later and still no go, so I shut down the computer and went out to run a few errands.

Now I start the machine and low and behold all devices connected to the USB card appear and function. I trust all is OK now and that I will not suffer this problem again intermittently.

Well now everything connected to the USB card has disappeared again. I can't seem to get it back. If I boot my 10.2.3 partition (on another drive) everything shows up as it should.

This is getting a little annoying...

I saw in another thread that installing the .4 combo update over the .4 regular update solves some problems. It's worth a try, maybe.

Thanks for the reply.

I saw the post you mention and gave it a try. No luck though.
