10.2.4 brought with it the ability to see local OS X websites automatically under Safari's Rendezvous menu. But I noticed a problem: I publish a website for my organization, and it shows up under Rendezvous - fine. But I also file share with several people, and therefore have set up accounts for them on my machine. However, Rendezvous now shows each of those user accounts on my machine publishing a website, even though it's just the default Apache page. Removing the default page from a user account does not remove them from Rendezvous.

That mod_Rendezvous module previously out did not do this. Do you think I can reinstall it?

Solution: Edit your /etc/httpd/httpd.conf (with sudo pico, or BBEdit, or the tool of your choice).

At the very bottom of the file, find the line that reads:
RegisterUserSite all-users

and disable it by putting a # in front:
#RegisterUserSite all-users

Then save the httpd.conf, and restart apache (sudo apachectl graceful, or with the button in Sharing Preferences).
