I have an old .sea file that I tried to delete today. Every time I try OSX (10.2.4) throws up a kernel panic.
I tried:
- trash can, empty trash
- terminal, rm file.sea
- compress and delete (it didn't make it to the compress stage, just crashed when touched)
Anyone have any suggestions? I at first thought it was something with 10.2.4 but when I tried to use DropStuff to compress and erase the files I was able to spot the one it crashed on.

Looks like that Norton stuff is interfering. I'd restart in Safe Mode (hold down the shift key when booting) so that Symantec extension doesn't load, then remove the file. Or you could uninstall that Norton stuff altogether - I've heard nothing but negative reports about it. Diskwarrior, fsck and Disk Utility are all good.
Hope this helps!

If you are comfortable with the Teminal, try this:
1. Launch terminal
2. Type "rm" type a space, and then drag that pesky file onto the Terminal window. (this will add the path to that file)
3. Press enter/return
The file should be gone. If there is a permissions issue then do this:
1. Same as above
2. Type "sudo rm" type a space, and then drag that pesky file onto the Terminal window.
3. Enter in your password.
4. Press return.

As mentioned above, Symantec is the culprit. Try to uninstall it... Also, send the panic log to Symantec, they'll hopefully fix this *bad* issue.
