what is folder "sw" at root level of my drive?

the other day i noticed a folder called "sw" at the root level of my hard drive. inside it is a single folder called "lib". inside that are several files that end in .dylib.

what is this folder? where did it come from? anyone have any ideas?

It could also be used by Virex.

It's for Virex 7.2. Leave it be, otherwise Virex fails to launch.

That was Virex's doing. You shouldn't remove it (Virex won't run if you do), but you can hide it via a Terminal hack.

Perhaps we should organize a campaign to scream at McAffee for this truly un-Mac-like hack?
