I had the whole system lock up on me last night.

Their use to be two buttons on the computer. One was for restaring and the other was for 'programming' (i think firmware)

On my new G4, nothing exists on the front of my computer. How do you restart?
I had to unplug the computer.

Just hold the power button alone for 3-5 seconds and the comp turns off.

Not to be stepping on toes here but the question above here is how to restart a G4 tower. Not how do I shut it off.

I think most of these people have Quicksilver and earler systems (like me, these have the reset & 'programers' buttons on the front). I have just had a look at the pic's of the MDD systems on Apple, and there is only a power button and (what looks like) the open drive pinhole. So how do you reset after 'Hard' crash? I have had 1 or 2 crashes where the keyboard does nothing.
Look round the back, is there a button/pin hole with a solid sideways triangle on it?
I thought Apple had learnt about this after the early style iMacs, guess not.

If your Mac is unresponsive, hold the power button until it shuts down. Then push it again to boot up. This applies to all OS X capable Macs.
