I need to copy an application to a DMG image, but there is a file inside the application that is owned by system. If I change the owner of that file, the application won't run. I need to put the program on a DMG image, and it won't allow me to because of the file being owned by system.
So, I either need to have the DMG image preserve the owner of the file, or I need to make an AppleScript that sets the owner of the file back to system.
Mount the dmg, click the icon that appears on the desktop, Get Info, click Ownership & Permissions, uncheck "Ignore ownership on this volume." Then unmount the disk image, remount it, and copy your file.
