Hi,

Mac OS X (10.2.3 and now 10.2.4) does not see the modem of my iBook anymore. I guess some files got corrupted or something during one KP while using Keynote.

If I create a new location in Network pref, I only see the built-in Ethernet and Airport ports.

I tried to run the Hardware test CD and it says the modem is OK.

Anyone knows how to make the modem appear in the list again? (I don't want to resinstall OS X just for the modem)
Thanks.

You can reinstall os x without formatting or erasing anything. It will reset a lot of your system prefs, and perhaps overwrite any special apache configs, but otherwise all data will be left intact. This is perhaps your best option, and quickest too: a reinstall only takes 20-30 minutes.
