My PowerBook refuses to sleep in 10.2.x. I have had this problem now for a few weeks, since I reformatted my hard drive and reinstalled Jaquar and copied over all of my old preferences (basically my entire user folder) to my new installation.

Now the computer will not fall asleep on its own. I have display sleep set to 1 minute. It will dim after 30 seconds and then after a minute it will turn off for about 3 seconds and then turn back on to full brightness and start the same pattern over again. I like to have my pismo on at all times and I leave Adium running. Adium will not go idle since this problem started (which is very frustrating because when I forget to leave away messages people IM me and then complain when I don't respond).

I have my computer set to display sleep after 1 minute but never go completely to sleep. I leave it on as a web server all night long in my dorm room and I need the display to turn off or I can't sleep (yes me, not the computer).

If anyone has any ideas how to fix this I would really appreciate it.

hey, I'm running 10.2.4 on a pismo pb and so far i havent had any trouble with it ging to sleep. it could be that the webserver is preventing it from sleeping, like a background process. i know that when i run itunes and leave my comp on,the screen goes black after 7 mins(i set my screen to turn off after 7 mins, but to sleep after 10). so itunes prevents the pb from sleeping but lets the screen turnoff.
it also could be ur old prefs. i did a completely clean install of 10.2 and its been fine since then, even the battery menu in the dock works now. lol

let me know how u get on

My issue with sleep and my Pismo is that, after wake up, sometimes the screen is totally black and Pismo does not respond, having to reset it. This with 10.2.3.
