3 Weeks ago, Apple said the shipping estimate for the 1.42 Gigahertz machines was 4-6 weeks. Today, it is still listed at 4-6 weeks. Doesn't this mean that the shipping estimate should have been at least 7 weeks? Or is this to say that Apple also participates in 'fuzzy math'.

MY POINT EXACTLY!!!

It could simply mean that it was 4-6 weeks three weeks ago and is 4-6 weeks right now.

It probably means that it will be 4 to 6 weeks from the time you purchased it until your mac ships.

If you wait 6 weeks and there's no change in status, then you can bitch. But I'd suggest a civil call to apple first. There's far too little civility in the world these days.

Look up the definition of the word "estimate".

It's a guess, many times not accurate when it comes to ship dates for Macintoshes.

Nothing new here.

Wow Greeny, is this all you could come up with? Apple must be doing pretty damn good for you to have to resort to trolling about shipping dates.

We live in an 'eager' society. We want things, and we want them now. When i ordered my Computer, i was expecting a month delay. But now it's looking like 2 to 2.5 months. Wouldn't you be upset?

um.

Wouldn't it make sense to either

a) wait another 3 weeks to see whether you get your machine or not (though I somehow doubt you've actually ordered one) or

b) call the Apple store?

Or are you just looking at shipping estimates for NEW orders in the Apple Store, figuring that, after the initial delay, all machines would be delivered spontaneously?

hm.

what point?

Do we have to approve of you being upset before you are officially allowed to be upset?

Are you supposed to sympathize with you? If so, how dare Apple make you wait!!

Do what you want, and feel what you want. You don't need our permission.

After about 4 years of the repeating shipping date patterns, one would think readers would take them with a grain of salt.

Sounds to me like Mr. Baerwolf is doing the "fuzzy math." Jan to April is 3 months, not four. Quite a difference. Go away, KH.
