I have a 17 inch iMac loaded up with the superdrive, and I've tried burning some data DVDs via the finder which burns them as hfs+ extended dvds.
When I insert a blank dvd, it loads up in the finder, then I go about copying files to the dvd n the desktop. This copying process takes forever!!!!!!
dragged about 4 gigs worth of files over, and it took about an hour~ hour and a half to copy everything. Then, it took about 30 mins to actuall burnn, once I ejjected the dvd.
Toast is beautiful. Just drag over the files, links over to them, and burns! But I don't think toast can burn dvds as hfs.
So... does anyone know of anyway to speed up the finder buurning process or how to make toast burn dvd hfs images?
Thanx

I though Toast did burn HFS+! You can select the DVD format about halfway down the window.
And the reason the DVD copy takes such a long time is that Mac OS copies all the files to a seperate location then creates the DVD from there (not very efficient!!)

The Finder actually copies the 4 Gigs from one place to another. It's just like you were trying to move those 4 gigs. (They do this so it doesn't lose the file it's supposed to burn to a disk)

Why? Disc Burner is a pathetic piece of ****.
It'll take time to copy the files, make a 4 gig disk image (temporary), then burn, and verify (maybe).
Don't even bother with it.
