NEO

http://expert.cc.purdue.edu/~mthole/neo/index.html

Its a shadow client for KaZaa. Basically that means the user host lists arent updated automatically, you have to manually download them. But once you do it works great, and has a very mac-like interface.

I wouldn't suggest using it on anything 56k or lower...but it works great on broadband.

i don't like neo...it's a hassel to find stuff to download.

i think direct connect is way better and easier to find stuff to download.

Acquisition works well for me, although others sometimes have difficulty. It's a limewire client that doesn't suck like the official limewire client.

others have difficulty is because they don't wait long enough for all the servers to connect

MLDonkey is the best out there. I've found everything on it, and download speeds are great for us broadband users. Acquisition is good if you're looking for music, Neo isn't that great, but it does work.

Acquisition is awesome. I only use it to get MP3's, but it works great and has a nice interface.

Direct Connect is great if you find a server that contains the type of music you are interested.

XNap is good but slow.

Everything else is still... well not so hot.

Wimpus is sort of interesting, but it cuts off too many songs (only 10 percent of the songs come in clean)...

Another vote for Aquisition... The interface is continually being refined despite being way better than the competition.

I liked it so much, I actually paid for it.

I am surprised no one mentioned Limewire.

I am not that Jim wasn't though:

Jim is a P2P that uses GiFT and works really well for me

I use hotline (although not the app). The client i use is called heidrun (Only Mac!) get it here

Fot my 80 Mbit Hotline server I use a programme called shxd. Very powerfull app that uses almost no cpu time. People get great speeds indeed. 1 MB/s is no exception. Use heidrun to get to this server shxd.ath.cx for the latest release of shxd.

If you want new movies I would use mldonkey with apple's X11 interface
go to this forum for more info.

For music I would use direct connect. Great speed but interface is terrible.
