A friend of mine has Mac OS X 10.2.4 installed on a G4 tower, which is sometimes connected to the Internet via dialup, and sometimes not. She has a problem with her computer resetting the date to 1969 every time she reboots after shutting it down.
For now, I recommended that she just let it go to sleep instead of powering it down at night, but I'm wondering if anyone has found a better solution?
She also has an issue with her monitor not re-synching properly when she wakes it up from sleep, though, which compounds the problem a bit.
I found this on MacFixit doing a web search, and am hoping someone might have come up with a solution.

Constant clock resetting We've received a number of corroborating reports complaining that after updating to Mac OS X 10.2.4, the system constantly resets itself to the date "Wed Dec 31 19:00:00 EST 1969" after being restarted.
So far, the only viable workaround we have been able to confirm in-house is to turn "Use a network time server" on in the Date and Time pane of System Preferences. Of course, this does not resolve the issue for Macs not connected to the Internet.
