I dont really know what forum this belongs in, but oh well.

recently i bought a 60 gb lacie firewire hard drive. it works just fine with my computer and doesnt need any drivers. i would like to have mac os x, linux, and mac os 9 on my comp. mostly i use os x so i would like to use the 60 gb hd for that. i have my 10 gb internal hard drive partitioned into two 5 gb partitions and i have os 9 on one of them and linux on the other. the problem is that i cant get my computer to boot into linux now. it did at first, but now it goes straight into os 9. to get it to boot into os x, i have to change the setting in th startup disk control panel. i would like to know how to boot my computer into linux which is already installed.

thanks

This depends entirely on the type of machine you are running, the boot loader you chose to use, and to some degree the way you have OS 9 and OS X installed.

If you are using yaboot on a relatively new machine, holding down the option key at boot will give you a choice of which volume to boot off of. Your yaboot boot volume should show up. If you have OS 9 and OS X installed on the same volume, you won't be able to choose between the two using this method.

If you are running an older machine, BootX or miboot work differently.
