Well got to say I am a little dissapointed. I have a Titanium 800 and 512 mb ram, I am running some 3d Programs and while using bryce I realized I cannot work with hardware accelaration in OPEN GL, to slow. My friend shows up with a XP not even hi quality and he just roollss away in OPEN GL... and then my mac seems to 'page out' (??) or in way to much and everything seems slower day by day, even after defrag.. so whats the deal. Anyway anybody knows were I can find 3d Benchmarks or info on how to control Video cards ?
Thanks !

Your post is a bit difficult to understand. Are you saying you were running several 3D programs simultaneously with Bryce, with 512 MB RAM? Was the "not even hi quality XP" running the same set of programs? What do you mean you cannot work with hardware acceleration? Maybe it is just your grammar, but I am having trouble following you.

I am very happy with my mac, dont get me wrong.
Actually when I am working with 2D Programs I am fine.
What I ment by Hardware Accell. is that I noticed that certain Cards have software control panels for the Video Cards. Do we OS X Users have that option?
Running 3D programs one at a time. BTW even ran pretty good with several at once

But you miss the Mac community so much that you still look through all the forums at MacNN.
Awww - how sweet!

People who value responsiveness as much as Moreonix need to find a different hobby, I think.
We are at the point where all computers are fast enough to keep up with us. Why sweat it over the seconds?
Find a computer that you work productively on and use it! There are a lot of variables to account for productivity other than processor speed.
The argument against me is "you're just resorting to sour grapes since Macs aren't as fast PCs". Sure, I'll take a fast Mac over a slow one, but I won't blow this way out of proportion like so many people do, IMHO.

Oh, and I hope you like your unspecified XP laptop, but maybe you should stop posting here.
As for the 3D stuff, do you have any power saving features turned on? (seeing how it is a laptop and all). I wouldn't sweat the speed though, 3D programs hog a computer's power like no else, even using Lightwave on the labs Dual 867s is slow.

This is Mor onix we're talking about here. Of course he doesn't think it makes sense.
Oh, and I hope you like your unspecified XP laptop, but maybe you should stop posting here.
I'd be willing to bet he doesn't own the laptop he says he does. In fact, I'd be willing to bet his machine is at least three years old, and isn't a laptop. If he has a Mac -equally unlikely- I doubt it's anything more recent than a 9600 or so; i.e. OSX isn't even supposed to run on it.
You forget; this is a troll we're talking about here. In other words a supremely-pathetic loser, probably between the ages of 12 and 14, who doesn't get the attention so desperately craves in real life, so he takes it out on us online. The best way to handle him is to not care. Don't even give him the effort of putting him on your Ignore list.

That's right, you should hate me because i use a Windows computer. You most hate 90% of the people around you. It's not like I don't have a mac. Did i say "I hate mac"?
no infact i love my mac.
i love my pc too.
when you're not ignorant and learn how to use both You'll be amazed at how good both can be.

Why should I hate you? Why assume this?
I could care less if you like Windows (or the Mac for that matter), no offense!
At first I thought you were just picking a fight, but now that you have announced you love your Mac, I just don't understand your original point since it did not include any arguments.
I like banannas.
(get my drift?)

not quite.
nothing about what i said was starting a fight, infact i think that's why i threw in "to each his own" but you little apple fan boys get all up in arms when you hear MICROSOFT WINDOWS BILL GATES. it's like trigger words.. you read it and you can't understand the rest of what is being said because it automatically makes you go stupid.

Dude, you also need another hobby.
If these alleged Apple fan boys do this and it bothers you, why do you participate here? You said you love your Mac, so I guess you just enjoy playing devil's advocate for no particular purpose?
As you said, to each his own. Let the Apple fan boys/girls be as such. Don't try to enlighten them, or let them upset you. Let the Windows fan boys/girls be as such as well (they also exist).
It's not as if saying "I like Windows" is going to make the "Apple fan boys" think to themselves "WAIT, I like Windows too!! WOW!!! What a revelation, and I owe it all to Ben! What am I doing being an Apple fan boy in here and dissing Microsoft for? I like them... one might even say I LOVE them..... yes, that's right.... I LOVE MICROSOFT! I never knew I felt this way until now, thanks Ben!"

What did besson3c say? His post was a harmless little question.

you could visit deviantpc.com: it is like the g.i. joe episode where the joe's are zapped into an alternate reality ruled by Cobra.
MIllenium...the best option to have is a forum called, "The Troll Zoo". Eventually there would be too much of stench from all the arguing that the mod's would have to get out their pooper scoopers in go inside. But trolls can't clean up after themselves. Why do they live under bridges?
Seems the original poster solved his problem.

Also, Bryce is a bad bad 3d program. Not very mac friendly. If you are looking for a good 3D program on the mac I recommend Cinema 4D XL. Check it out at www.maxon.net

Be happy everyone!
10.2.4 seems to have made 3D a bit more bearable for aderium.
No need for all this bickering!
Morenix - there's just no need for you to come here and say that Macs suck or that Windows is the best thing in the world. Even if you consider that to be true - it's not constructive, it's not clever and it's not necessary.

So, sek, how's you're Portuguese?
I'm sorry, all the justified/unjustified (as it may be, I'm not touching that) flaming aside, but anybody who picks on a non-native-speaker's phrasing on T3h inTARnet without some sort of constructive aspect is just being a prick.
I, for one, really miss morenix's contributions to the forum from the time he was still a Macuser. The "no Photoshop" keynote video is classic. I still have that somewhere.
at heart, you're still a Mac guy, morenix. You know it, else you wouldn't be here. Yes, it's all just aluminum envy. Admit it.

I run an office with six PC's. They are so buggy that I wish I could throw them all out of the window. In fact, I am the only person in my company that uses a Mac as his primary computer. I keep a PC on my desk because of industry specific software.
In addition, I don't know anyone who has a PC that isn't complaining about how unreliable they are.

I'd like to go back to statement about bananas. Bananas are cool, but go best in cereal and in fruit salads with oranges, grapes and cherry jell-o. As for oranges, there too messy to eat hand peeled. If you hand peel them or even cut them you get orange juice under your nails and all you smell is orange for teh rest of the day. That's it. Thanks.
