I get this message when I boot into single user mode on my dual gig MDD w/ GeForce Ti. It scares me. Anybody know what it means?

TIA.

It has something to do with the video card (NVidia's stock symbol is NVDA). Something is wrong with the drivers; exactly what, nobody knows. Except maybe the NVidia folks, and they're not telling.

I always thought that message was telling you that the drivers weren't loading because you chose single - user, and they weren't necessary then - isn't that the case?

One could check by booting in Verbose mode rather than Single-User (same keystroke, but substitute V for S). That gives text-based startup for the first part of the boot sequence (after the Apple logo but before the login screen).

I don't have a machine with this configuration, so I can't check for myself. Perhaps someone else could?

I get the same thing on my digital audio G4. It isn't limited to Quicksilvers and newer.

No. Stock GeForce 4 Ti here.

I'll have to try verbose mode next time I get a chance.

Thanks.

I noticed this same thing on my sister's new iMac yesterday. I was wondering what it meant too.
