Hi,
When I log into the console, and run startx and I get the "Display Interlocks" error. Does anyone have any advice?
What used to happen is that it'd start XDarwin, but then I would just get the spinning gear for about 10 mins. I could type "exit", then "logout" and it would bring me back to the OS X log in screen. Now, nothing!

help please!

If you have Apple X11, it doesn't work. Read the README.

Hmm,
I read the README, doesn't REALLY say anything like that. Anyway, how can I totally remove Apple's X11 so I can just use XDarwin?

Apple X11 only works in the "rootless" mode, i.e., you can't do what you are asking.

Instead of Apple X11, install `xfree86' via `fink'. But you lose the quartz stuff...

No no no. I already have xfree86 and xdarwin installed. The problem is that I also have Apple's X11 installed. I can't log in as >console and then run startx to use the XDarwin part.
