Changing App That Handles ftp:// URLs

Is there a way to do this? Very annoying that the Internet system preferences doesn't have it available (it has mail and web but not FTP).
I want to use Transmit, not Fetch when clicking on an FTP link.
(sorry about double post... I think Safari has some problems still)

Fetch's bundle most likely tells the OS that it handles ftp: urls.
You could edit Fetch's bundle and remove those references. Look for ftp in the applications Info.plist.

Wierd, the Finder handles ftp links for me. I guess you dictated that you wanted Fetch to handle ftp links when you installed it. If you use Transmit then trash all the fetch files.

I deleted Fetch and then Finder started handling it. Which is worse than Fetch... Any other ideas?

Delete the Finder.

For some supremely annoying reason, there is no interface for this in OSX. You can use IE to change the apps, or you can use More Internet Preferences (which I recommend).
By the way, Safari does not honor the user's preference for FTP links, and insists on using the Finder. This is, shall we say, unacceptable.

Is there a reason why you need this done? Unless you don't feel like entering in the server/log/pass info, setting up Transmit shouldn't take too long. Once the finder handles FTP the right way it will be awesome.
