Lost Hard Drive

	Ever since I updated to 10.2.4, my external Maxtor 80 gig hard drive wont show up on my desktop. In fact, I can't even have it plugged in or my computer wont boot-up. It will start to boot, then when it get to the part where it says "waiting for local disks" it just hangs there and wont go any further. It just sits there waiting......... For what, I dont know? I didn't have this problem with 10.2.3. It always showed up on the desktop as a firewire drive. Does anybody know what might have happened and what I can do to remedy this problem? Thanks!!
