After I rip cds into mp3 format and save them on my powerbook via iTunes, I get slight distrotion. I will be listeing to songs and I will hear sligh pops and hisses, even while wearing my high quality headphones. I am riping at 320 kbs. What is ironic is when I listen to the same exact songs on my iPod I dont hear any of the pops at all in the spots where I do in iTunes. This is also the case when I burn a playlist on a cd. Any ideas?

It could just be your EQ or "Sound Enhancer" settings in iTunes. Change the EQ (or turn it off altogether).
Then, go to the iTunes preferences, click on Effects, and disable (or lessen) the Sound Enhancer "feature." This Sound Enhancer is, IMHO, lame and actually makes the music sound worse.
