Im not quite sure how to describe my problem. Basically, I've searched the forum and I found someone else with the same problem
here . However, I've tried everything, from editing a new .xinitrc and including source /sw/bin/init.sh , i tired setting a new PATH in it, i tried adding . /sw/bin/init.sh in my .profile (as indicated in init.sh), and ive tried every single combination of the above. I also made the environment.plist as suggested in the other thread. What I dont understand, is that if I open a normal Terminal.app (with or without Apple X11 running), and type, say, gkrellm it runs! Therefore the PATH is set correctly. Also when I run X11, and type gkrellm frm an xterm, it runs aswell. So where is my problem ? Well, my problem is that the only way to run these programs from the X11 "Application" menu, is by putting /sw/bin/gkrellm or /sw/bin/gimp ..

Just "gkrellm" or "gimp" wont work. Another problem (which is linked i beleive), when I run Fink Commander, and try to install something from there it gives my the followig error (3d pong is an example);

NB: root's PATH should usually contain /usr/local/sbin, /usr/sbin and /sbin.

The only way for me to install packages is manually via Terminal usind sudo apt-get install "packagename" .
Any insight/help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
