Hey forum,

I'm ready to upgrade my imac 400 dv 320 mb ram. I've been using 10.1.5 and 9.2.1 classic for a few months...enjoy it tremendously but am now looking for more speed and the opp to use keynote, ichat, etc.

What do u think is the safest upgrade path? I hear horror stories about 10.2.4 and some about .3...I'm going to wipe my osx partition and start from a 9.2.1 disc then go straight to a jaguar disk...but then what? combo 10.2.2...

your help is appreciated.

I have not upgraded since 10.2.2 and I'm doing fine. I don't know anything about the later versions but I'm happy with 10.2.2.
I've never encounterd a bug in an iron-bar.

No problems with me on an iMac DV 400 and 10.2.4.

bottom line? There are always install horror stories for every update. Usually they happen because people forget to repair the disks or whatnot, but for the most part installations go well, and as a result people don't post about those positive experiences.

In general it's just a better idea to have your system completely up to date, so I'd do the whole 10.2.4 thing. (fwiw, I had no problems upgrading from 10.1.5 to 10.2 and then through each of the releases to 10.2.4)
