This one should be quick and easy (sadly, I can't figure it out, so what does that say about me? ).

TiBook GHz... I usually keep the 'book plugged in or on battery and plugged in at night, so I don't reboot very often. However, when I do reboot, my desktop picture that was dragged into the "well" area in the desktop prefs is replaced with the standard blue swirly background. How do I make my desktop permanent?

hhmmm... This may be a bug... did you try "Choose folder..." in System prefs? and then select your picture?

Not a solution, but you could replace the swirly blue back ground with your desktop that you want (assuming this bug doesn't go away), by replacing the "Aqua Blue.jpg" in /Library/Desktop Pictures/

I haven't had this bug. Seems weird.

Most likely, the file you were using as the desktop picture was moved from the location it had when you first dragged it to the well.
Try dragging it again and keep the file in the same directory.

This happens to me sporadically on a TiBook/400 running 10.2.3, when I switch between an external monitor and the TiBook's display. I haven't really tried to figure out why...

Hmmm... maybe I'm not as dumb as I thought. We'll call it a bug!

Actually, I think Arena may have been right. We'll see.

Thanks for the help!

Yeah, that always happens to me. I set a new picture as my desktop and then I move it to a folder, and forget all about it until I restart and see my AquaBlue.jpg again. It never happens otherwise.

I love the U.S., but we need some time apart.

Same when I mirror video on a 10.2.4 iBook 600. Every time, though - not sporadic.
