I discovered another BIG problem with my setup. I think that the problem is something related to altivec because:
_When I apply an altivec enabled (for example blur) filter in photoshop 7 I get all sort of strange random colored stripes inside the image selection, BUT if I remove the "AltiVecCore" module from the plug in folder (thus disabling altivec acceleration) the filter works as it should!!
Furthermore, when I try to watch an mpeg1 file with QT 6.1 I see a bunch of stripes and dots appearing randomly on the image, but playing the same on vlc is fine. This could be a QT bug, BUT the same movie does play very well on my powerbook with 10.2.4 and QT 6.1!!
I'm afraid that this could be a major hardware problem. I hope, that someone can help me solving it!
Ivan
PS I added a couple of screenshots of photoshop filter to my .mac page (
http://homepage.mac.com/ivang/guest/PhotoAlbum4.html). I had to compress them on the powerbook, because Preview's compression on my dual resulted in an image scattered with dots :-(
