I find it commendable/fantastic that Apple Inc. has reacted so quickly to this security issue even though it isn't even enabled by default. This shows the improvement in reaction time over the previous security issues which took a little longer than some would have liked.

I ran the update and it restarted OK, but if I run a Software Update check again it tells me I still need to install the Security update?

My Software update log has the following entry?

Tuesday, March 04, 2003 09:34:27 Australia/Melbourne: Installed "Security Update 2003-03-03" (1.0)

Curious & Confused.

Good ole Software Update. Don't worry about it. You most likely installed it fine. Check again next week and I bet it's gone.

Nice.. and there's a Keynote update too, the "International version". Does this mean that they've localised it into my language, and it will no longer spell "colour" incorrectly?

Maybe you're just spelling "color" incorrectly

This happened to me too. After the post-update reboot, Software Update automagically restarted itself, and it shows I still need the update. Strange.

Maybe you're just spelling "color" incorrectly
I was preparing a Powerpoint presentation for a client in New York yesterday and I switched the dictionary on the spell checker from UK to US - and to my amazement "tranquillity" is spelt "tranquility" in the USA (spot the missing L there?) and "encased" is spelt "incased".

I think my head was reeling from all these little spelling modifications I had to make.

I don't understand it anymore, why was I even tought to spell correctly at school (with regular spelling tests and all) when everyone is going to spell it differently anyway? Argue that with you teacher next time he/she gives you bad mark for incorrect spelling in your report - "but that's how they spell it in XXX country".

I don't think you should be complaining about having to learn correct spelling. In school I had to choose between American english and "proper" English. I of course chose "proper" English.

ps. even if it doesn't look like it

It's not that quick. This vulnerability was discovered in December and kept secret. Vendors were notified at least six weeks ago, and so they had plenty of time to get the patch ready.

I lost my network connection after the update. I tried repairing permissions, running DiskWarrior, and re-running the 10.2.4 combo update but nothing seems to fix it. Rebooting into 9 restores my DSL. It's quite frustrating.
