I don't know if this has been talked about or not by I ran into a problem with airport extreme and Apples's Mail app. I have a 533/G4 tower running 10.2.3 and configured as an software base station. I have a new 12" powerbook running 10.2.3 and airport extreme. The Mail app. cannot send and recieve mail unless the firewall on my 533/G4 is turned off. I spent some time on the phone with Apple tech. support trying to figure out what was wrong, then it all worked when I shut off the firewall on my desktop machine. After consulting with senior techs, I was told that this is a known problem and that they are working on a software fix. Anyone else have this problem, and have you been able to work around it.? The only fix I know would be to use a router with built-in firewall, or go to a airport base station!!
