I have installed Fink, and Fink Comander, and am running into a problem. I tried to install GIMP, and as it was installing it said there was a problem with XFree86 (which I hadn't installed). So, I went to install XFree86, and I get this"

E: dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'dpkg --configure -a' to correct the problem.

Any time I try to do anything in Fink Commander now, I get this error.

I typed dpkg --configure -a into the Terminal and got:
dpkg: Command not found.

Anyone know how I do this?
(This is my first time using fink )

I ran this to get my xfree86 stuff:

% fink selfupdate-cvs
% fink install system-xfree86

This will alert fink to X11, and things should be fine afterwards.

Someone, please correct me if I'm wrong. I am relatively new at this.

I tried this, and just get:

fink: Command not found.

Well, I got it to work. I had to rm the /sw directory, re-install fink, then install the fink sdk. I then tried to install xfree86, it went through the whole process, but at the end said it won't over-right the X11 files, so it stopped. I then installed gimp from fink, and it worked fine after I set the app path in X11...

So it all works now? Great. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
