I seemed to have lost the original dock that came with my copy of 10.2. Can someone email me the file?

Thanks in advance.

well this happened to me and I don't know where to put the new dock I extracted with Pacifist.

Actually, I haven't extracted the Dock yet cuz I can't find it on any of the 3 Panther install CDs.

All you need to do is the following:

1. Insert disk 1 of the Panther discs.

2. Launch Pacifist.

3. Click the "Open Mac OS X Install Packages" button.

4. Wait for it to finish loading the packages.

5. The Dock is located here:

EssentialSystemSoftware.mpkg/Essentials.pkg/System/Library/CoreServices/Dock.app

Or, you can go to Find... and search for 'Dock.app'.

6. Once you find the Dock app, click on it, choose Install, and you should be good to go. Alternatively, you can choose Extract and save the app to the Desktop or some other location to make sure the extracted copy works before you replace your original with it.

Ticking sound coming from a .pkg package? Don't let the .bom go off! Inspect it first with Pacifist. Macworld - five mice!
