Do I have any options on OS X for running .exe files? A friend of mine has several training programs that I'd like to run on my laptop. Is there a solution other than Virtual PC?

No .exe files won't run on a Mac.

Haven't tried it but WinTel (based on bochs) is supposed to be able to run Windows.

Note that Bochs is REALLY REALLY slow. Virtual PC is the best method for running Windows apps on a Mac right now.
(Wow, I usually don't say "Windows" and "best" in the same sentence. )

Stuffit Expander might be able to handle self-extracting Zip files, which are tagged as .exe. However, those are the only .exe files that the Mac can handle natively, or will ever be able to handle natively if all goes well.

Virtual PC.

Ticking sound coming from a .pkg package? Don't let the .bom go off! Inspect it first with Pacifist. Macworld - five mice!
