So I ran a little script to delete .xinitrc, why I didn't do it manually, I don't know. Now every time I open a new terminal window, it tries to run the script again. I deleted the script, I have quit and restarted the terminal, I even rebooted. It still tries to run. The problem is, is exits the session after it tries to run the script rendering my terminal useless. Where is it telling the terminal to run this at startup? How do I make it stop?? Thanks for any advice... javascript :smilie(' ')

Check out your .tcshrc file, in your home folder. How it could have gotten in there without you doing it yourself is beyond me though. But that's the script that runs every time you fire up your terminal, if you are using the standard tcsh shell that is.
Hope that helps,
Terje

I had a look at the script, which is from this bundle -
http://www.versiontracker.com/morein...058&db=mac
and all it does is this:
echo remmove .xinitrc Install
sudo rm ~/.xinitrc
Also, here is what my terminal looks like at startup:
Last login: Fri Mar 7 20:54:09 on ttyp1
/Applications/Tools/X11\ Stuff/Installers/Remove\ Welcome to Darwin!
.xinitrc.command; exit
[xxx-xx-xx:~] algernon% /Applications/Tools/X11\ Stuff/Installers/Remove\ .xinitrc.command; exit
remmove .xinitrc Install
rm: /Users/algernon/.xinitrc: No such file or directory
logout
[Process completed]
Where is it pulling that from? It's not in .login... This is getting annoying.

/me smacks his forehead.
I figured it out, after days of agonizing, digging through obscure files... I was cleaning our my prefs and wondered if deleting the term's prefs would do it. It did. I feel stupid now. One of the foundations of troubleshooting and I forgot. Someone take away my geek membership.
