What do I need to write to enable others to access the files inside my User "sites" directory is OS 10.2.4?

I used to be able to just type in my IP address, and my directory, and it worked.

http://210.203.175.167/~kentuckyfried/

(that's not it btw)

Now that I have a wireless router....
What does the URL now have to be?

I can't simply just type the IP I assign to this computer, and still have it work.

I tried

http://192.168.1.2/~kentuckyfried/
but that sort of thing did not work.

Somebody says I need to route it through port 80 and write in the "real" static IP address from my ISP....but I'm not

quite sure what to put down, and this person I'm referring to is being a total punk and calling me a tool. I hate it when people do this whole power trip thing where they make me feel low, how the hell am I supposed to know, I don't have time to take classes on networking stuff right now.

Was this info listed in the Mac OS X help at all?

(this is a cross-point from networking, my apologies).
Now I know, and knowing is half the battle!

You need to enable Web Sharing the the Sharing preference pane. That will allow you to access the sites in the folder either through Rendevous or at http://computerip/~username/

I got it.

My friend just explained it to me....it was a router setting.

Hopefully it works now.
