Hope someone kind can help me here.

I have been having a bit of trouble with my G4 which eventually turned out to be a broken FireWire port. However in the process of identifying this I reinstalled the OS a couple of times.

Now I have all my stuff in the Previous Systems folders and I am trying to get it back.

Even though the user names are the same, a lot of the folders in the Previous System folder have the little "no entry" icon on them. I have tried selecting them all and changing the permissions through Get Info but that doesn't seem to remove the icon.

Also, now things like iPhoto are not working correctly. (Permissions troubles)

I know I should have used Carbon Copy Cloner first but didn't. My bad.

Please someone help....

Thanks,

Jordan

Have you tried using Disk Utility to repair the permissions?

Thanks Xeo, tried that, doesn't seem to get it though....

When I try to copy over the files from the old to the new I don't have enough permission to do so...

You moved them in OS 9 didn't you? OS 9 has a way of setting a lock on files that shouldn't be locked. I can't quite remember how to fix the OS 9 prblem though :-\

Nah - kept the whole thing in OS X. Haven't been in OS 9 for yonks.

Can I fool Carbon Copy Cloner into importing from a Previous System folder??? Just a stab in the dark here....
