This is cool.
In a Windows 2000 network environment at work there are two solitary iMacs. I've got my mitts on one of them and upgraded it to 10.2.4.
We've just got a new HP 4600N color printer and the IT guys hooked it up to the network today. I tested to see whether I could print to it from the mac and found to my surprise that the Rendezvous tab was active. Selecting the tab reveal the printer and I was immediately able to print to it. No configurations, nothing. It was so easy!
Data sharing is just as easy. In the Finder, selecting Go - Connect to Server, brought up the shared Windows drives which could be accessed with my regular login and password.
I hope this gives some idea how easy integrating a Mac into a Windows environment is. On installing the software, the Mac automatically was assigned an IP address without any intervention on my part.
Has anyone else found it as easy to get a Mac to work with Windows in a corporate environment?
I may try to see if Entourage or Mail can handle the email system.
Neil
