Hello all! I was wondering what types of applications you would reccomend from DJing music at parties aside from iTunes. I would like to try DJing with my Powerbook G4, but I've never done it with computers at all before. Any applications, tips, and suggestions are appreciated. Also, how do you overcome the lack of audio interfaces?

Thanks!

The best app do DJ on mac is Traktor DJ, from Native Instruments.
It allows you to overcome the lack of additional hardware by sending the monitor output to, say, the left channel, and the playback output to the right.
But it's still better to get an external audio interface (like the emagic 2|6).

good threat!
i was thinking a long time about this. dont like complex software solutions. the best would be a simple, multiple audio output device aware software, doing nothing else but streaming two tracks to two output devices. everything else could be external, like mixers etc. the one question would be: beatmatching in software or an external hardware?
is there some hardware to digitally slow down or speed up audio?

Some more ideas:
Baytex' Party
gdam (Free as in LGPL, requires X11)

and hopefully soon: FinalScratch(.com), lets you pitch and scratch digital audio files with a pair of turntables!!

Stink different.

No Not Baytex sure it's cheap but it sucks, traktor is the way to go, check out the 30 trial ! It's an amazing app, looks good, fast, stable and really easy to use...

Can you post a screenie of the Mac version (I'm assuming it's X native)? The company site only shows the fugly Windows version.
