Hi there,

I'm trying to help my friend out to recover a photograph using Norton's File Saver, but for some odd reason I cannot correctly boot off the CD. It works just fine on my G3 and my gfriend's iBook. But when I try to boot off his TiBook 15'', it just says error type 11. then suggests that I turn off extensions when I startup. But why would that be a problem? Isn't it supposed to be running off of the extensions that are supplied on the Norton CD?

The reason why we are trying to boot off of the Norton CD is to run File Saver. Originally he was working on one drive, then we cleaned it out, back everything up (at least we thought we did), and then repartioned the drive into 3: OS X, Data, and OS 9.

If anyone happens to know of any other software that is good for recovering deleted files, that would be helpful as well. This is super important because he's submitting his graphic design portfolio next week to the univ. and he's using the photo that got thrown away.

Thanks everyone!

Boot from the CD by holding down the C key, and as soon as the CD starts spinning, let go of C and hold down Shift until you see "Extensions Off."

Ticking sound coming from a .pkg package? Don't let the .bom go off! Inspect it first with Pacifist. Macworld - five mice!

That is also a common error when the OS on the CD does not support the model of Mac you are using it on.
