It's iSync that needs to support the P800 - not the OS - per se.

No doubt p800 support will appear in a future rev of iSync.

(my p800 arrives tomorrow!)

It can't come soon enough for me. Somewhere I read that iSync 2.0 will add the support needed for the P800.

Hmm - Got my P800 - can pair it - can't discover services - or "validate" it for OBEX transfers.

I suspect it's my TDK bluetooth adapter.

Can anyone else transfer files under mac os x 10.2.4 to a p800?

FYI!
I just arrived from Cebit Fair and I visited the Sony Ericsson stand where Apple products was displayed on several locations in the stand. They where showing off Jonas Sallings program "Clicker" and a other program called Romeo which does simular things.
The Sony Ericsson/Apple representive told me that it´s just a question of weeks before they will have the P800 working with MacOS X. The new 610 model is already compatible for MacOS X.

Diggory, same here.

I can pair, but nothing else. Waiting for 10.3 or a new iSync....

Well I don't have a P800 (I have a Nokia 7650), but you should be able to transfer files between a Mac (with Bluetooth) and any Bluetooth phone with the Bluetooth file exchange (comes with 10.2) You shouldn't need iSync to transfer files between your phone and your Mac. Of course you do need iSync if you want to sync your calendar or contact list.

I use a "Mitsumi" brand (I treat it as a no brand stuff; made in Japan) USB Bluetooth adapter that cost me A$85 (about US$43). Works very well.

There is also a thread on Peripheral forum about P800 with iSync (It doesn't answer your question there, but it does give you some background info):

You're right - I *should* be able to transfer files to the phone - but I cannot - The ServiceDiscovery does not work for me:

I have been testing BT interoperability of this phone -

Bad - An iPaq could not send it an image, a Nokia 6310i could not send it a vCard - and a Nokia CameraPhone 7650 could not send it an image.

Good - Seimens camera phone could send image. SE T68i could send it an image.

I thought this kind of non-interoperability was not meant to happen with Bluetooth - I was under the impression that all these devices had to be certified showing that they implement the protocols and profiles properly.

If so - why is this phone not playing well with others (including Mac OS X)

I'd like to know anyone else's results of transferring files to the P800 from various other Bluetooth devices..
