Evening everyone,

This friday, I'm scheduled to take two apple certifications that my place of employment has agreed to pay for. They are the two following exams:

Mac OS X and Mac OS X Server Essentials Exam - 9L0-504, which I'm not that worried about, because I have used Macs for years and OS X since it came out. However the second apple exam I signed up for is the following:

Mac OS X Administration and Integration Exam - 9L0-603, I have been researching things in preparation for this friday and I've found out that the second exam has awful lot of BSD UNIX commands on it. Can anyone offer any advice, if any of you have taken these exams in the past? thanks.

Like I said, I'm not all that worried about the first one, mainly only just the second one. Any brain-dumps or study guides would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks.

I have been reading up and would say that I have about a 55% grasp on the knowledge on the second exam, and any extra help besides the reading I have found would be GREATLY appreciated.

Sorry for rambling.

Mike

I'm sure others can offer useful advice, but all I'm able to say is good luck.

Be sure to check back and give us a status report - I for one would be interested to know the standard of the exam, subjects covered and so on.... the fact Apple even has a certification programme is fairly intriguing!

Cheers,
Chris

Apple calls this a Certification??

It's pretty asinine that they are charging $150 per test and they don't even have a book curriculum to purchase. I'm glad this on on your companies dime.

If it were $50 per exam and plenty of materials available for study, then I would consider signing up.

Well they want you to pay $1000 and go on one of their courses, of course!

That $1000 better include the damn certificate at the end of the test.

Congrats! Glad you passed 'em both. What did you find to be more difficult than expected?

CONGRATULATIONS!

I have been wanting to take the training before taking the tests. Our company has said it has the funds in the budget but balks everytime I ask.

How hard was it? How did you prepare for it?

Any information would be helpful.

Just as a side note. I did purchas the Mac OS X Administration Basics ACTC/ACSA Exam 9L0-500 book (Samuel A. Litt - Coriolis) last year. It's been helpful for the first test. But I would like to know how to prepare for the Mac OS X Server Essentials (Exam 910-501)

Also, I agree with many of you that the exams cost way too much as well as the training. Like I have three thousand dollars to roll out to be trained, hotels and exams.

Any suggestions would be great. Thanks!
