I have a client who's having trouble with a DVD video being only able to get it to play on one of the monitors. How do I get it to play on the other monitor? (I don't have a dual monitor Mac here to figure it out with).

I don't want to have to reconfigure the Mac's monitors, so can the DVD be easily made to play on the other monitor (or on both)?

The Apple DVD player is programmed to allow video to play only on the main monitor (the one with the menu bar).

You may be able to do what you want with a third party DVD player, but not with Apple's.

bummer... why is Apple so short sighted on so many things?

So what happens if you drag the window off the screen and onto the next monitor? Does it play okay in windowed mode on the second monitor? What happens if you change it to full screen then? Does it pop back to the main monitor?

While I'm sure Apple did it as some kind of copy protection, it's still too bad.

When I was using a dual display system, I would have liked to have a small DVD window open on the secondary display. For several reasons, I decided I was better off with a Cinema Display rather than two individual displays.

have you tried mirroring, and then playing the DVD? i know that sometimes this doesn't work, but it seems to work with my G4. i have a radeion 8500, and connect my tv to the s-video out. then i mirror the displays, and pop in the DVD. now i can watch the DVD's on TV.
