Does anyone have any experience with this? I need to look in to it further, but I'm curious to know if anyone has used this product first hand.

I generally hear that people like the EyeTV better. Plus if you own Watson you can set your EyeTV to schedule recordings etc. through their TV plugin.

I love my EyeTV. It's so great and you are only limited by the amount of hard drive space you have.

Too bad they don't have an hdtv version of it. If they did I'd consider buying it and recording hdtv feeds. As is the analog -> mpeg isn't always digitized well on the fly. Further I can often download hdtv feeds of my favorite shows off Usenet or DC.

I had an EyeTV, but I returned it, for a couple of reasons. First, the minor delay between broadcast and what gets on your screen. My desktop is near our TV, but basically parallel to it, so I can hear it, but can't see it easily. I figured with the EyeTV I could watch the same show as my wife, since I was hearing the audio anyway. The delay between broadcast and EyeTV encoding was maddening- it was guaranteed to be out of synch.
Second, I would prefer a product that prepped Mpeg-4 streams, and tied in with QTSS. I would so love to have the option to point my powerbook at the webserver in my desktop, see the list of recently recorded programming, and stream that over airport to my laptop. With that, I'd repurpose my old 7500 with a TV out card to stream recordings onto the TV. The guys at www.snapstream.com seem to have this figured out.
3- My desk isn't where I want to watch TV from. My TV in front of the couch and my powerbook wherever I take it are just more desireable. EyeTV made it easy to prep VCDs, and it's a great tool if you're into archiving shows.
I've found that I can download shows in higher quality than my noisy cable signal, so if I fail to record it withthe VCR, that's my backup method.
