Hi everyone,

As part of a corporate Mac OS x image I am creating, all of the users who will be using Mac OS X will just be users, *not* admins. I am trying to make any changes now before this image goes live. I had a few questions.

1. Will they run into *any* problems running applications such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Freehand, IE, MS Office, Lotus Notes (all *nstalled* ith an admin account) if they are non-admin users?

2. Will they be able to burn CDs as non-admin users?

3. Will they be able to change date/time settings or add another Network Location as non-admin users?

4. Are there any other things I should be aware of if our users need a working system without any major bumps if they're non-admin users?

Thanks in advance. I appreciate all the help I'm getting here!

Firstly, you cannot create a system with ALL non-admin users. You've got to have at least 1 admin user (at least if using the conventional user-management tools).

Secondly, why don't you just try it out for yourself? Create a temporary non-admin account on your Mac, and try out each of the things you are concerned about whiled logged in as the new user.

Then log out and back in as your admin user and delete the temporary account.
